Skagit Gleaners, a
tax exempt, non-profit organization
established in 1984, is dedicated
to gleaning and food recovery,
reclaiming food products that
would otherwise be discarded
in order to supplement the
nutritional and economic needs
of its members.
Our
mission is threefold:
1)
To glean, receive, process,
and distribute food products
to member without regard
to ethnic groupings, gender,
age or income.
2)
To provide the opportunity
for active involvement
of all members and management
, unlike food banks; and
3)
To successfully create
a volunteer network of
people who mutually respect
and help each other, fostering
pride in themselves and
others.
